What happens to my voice recordings?

Your audio is never stored on our servers. Voice is transcribed in the moment, and we keep only the transcript and the speaking metrics (pace, clarity, filler words) — the audio itself is discarded. Those transcripts are private to your account and deletable at any time.

Who can see my conversations with the coach?

Your coach conversations are yours. To build a coach that remembers you, we distill durable notes (e.g. your goals and what you're working on) from your conversations and well-being check-ins into a private memory tied to your account. All of it is used only to personalize your coaching, and you can export or permanently delete it whenever you want. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.

Where does the AI run?

All AI processing runs server-side. Your data is sent to our AI providers only to generate your responses and analysis; API keys and models are never exposed to the browser, and providers are bound by their data-processing terms.

How do I export or delete everything?

You can request a full export of your data or erase your account and its contents from Settings. Deletion first cancels any subscription so billing stops, then permanently removes your conversations, coach memory, voice transcripts, well-being check-ins, and progress history. For analytics we use privacy-friendly, cookieless product analytics (aggregate page views only) — no personal profiles or ad tracking.

Which companies help run SURGO, and how long is my data kept?

We use a small set of trusted providers (“sub-processors”) to run SURGO, each bound by their own data terms and used only to deliver the product — never for advertising.

Anthropic (Claude) powers the AI coach; Deepgram transcribes voice sessions; Stripe handles payments; Resend sends email; Google provides sign-in; Supabase hosts our database. Your data reaches each one only to deliver the feature it serves.

Retention: we keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we erase it immediately and cancel any subscription so billing stops. Stripe retains invoices for legal and tax reasons; our database backups rotate on a fixed schedule and are never restored to revive an individual’s deleted data.

Is SURGO therapy or medical care?

No. SURGO is a confidence-coaching tool, not therapy or medical treatment. In a crisis it points you to professional resources rather than coaching you — and we treat any such signals with care, not as marketing data.
